Gala Dinner

Gala Dinner

The MaculArt Committee has the pleasure to invite you to the MaculArt Gala Dinner on Monday, July 03, 2017, which will take place at the 'Mairie du Cinquième', Paris.

Designed by the architect Jean-Baptiste Guenepin and completed in 1849 by Jacques Hittorf and Victor Caillat, La Mairie du Cinquième is part of the six Parisian City Halls listed in the inventory of historic monuments.

Its facade of neoclassical inspiration faces the Pantheon and borders the Sorbonne, both emblematic places of the intellectual and academic life of the fifth arrondissement.

The Panthéon (Latin Pantheon, from Greek Pantheon, meaning "Every god") was originally built by the architect Jacques-Germain Soufflot, as a church dedicated to St. Genevieve, but after many changes now functions as a secular mausoleum containing the remains of distinguished French citizens.

It is an early example of neo-classicism, with a façade modelled on the Pantheon in Rome, surmounted by a dome that owes some of its character to Bramante's "Tempietto" and looks out over all of Paris.

The seated dinner will take place in 'La Salle des Fêtes', which is a grandiose space with its architectural decoration representative of the art of the 1930s.

The dinner will be animated by a classic musical performance with a duo of violon and piano.
